Our Services
We believe that God has called us to educate women and men on all options surrounding an unexpected pregnancy.
We carry out this purpose initially by addressing their needs, providing:
- Pregnancy Testing
- Peer Counseling: Women & Men
- Ultrasound Imaging
- Adoption Referrals
- Post Abortion Counseling
- Abstinence Education
- Classes related to:
- Pregnancy & Baby Care
- Life Skills
- Biblical Principles
These FREE services open the door to establish relationships and to share the gospel as we work with the Lord to meet spiritual & physical needs. As a result, we have seen many abortion-minded and abortion-vulnerable women decide to carry their child to term after receiving counseling and seeing an ultrasound image of their baby.
Mercy Project
The Mercy Project is the educational outreach component of the pregnancy center. Started in 1999, it has grown from one childbirth education class to over two dozen classes. Classes are divided into three main areas: pregnancy and baby care, life skills, and relationships. Topics include nutrition, newborn baby care, parenting, Bible studies, budgeting, car care, relationships & communication. Mercy Project classes are taught by volunteers from the community.
In Mercy Project classes, we seek to teach women specific skills needed to become better parents, to learn a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their babies, and gain valuable skills necessary for personal and spiritual growth.
The baby’s father is encouraged to attend classes, and both mother and father earn credits which can be redeemed in our Mercy Project STORE. Credits can be redeemed for baby items such as cribs, baby clothing, diapers, blankets, and other baby accessories and equipment.
Our most popular classes, not surprisingly, are those related to pregnancy and baby care. In 2007, the most frequently attended classes were Newborn Baby Care, Breastfeeding and Infant CPR. The Childbirth Education DVD series was—as always—also very popular. The Bible study, Inquiring Minds Want to Know was our most popular spiritual growth class, and the most popular life skills class is Basic Car Care—taught both in the classroom and the parking lot with client’s own cars.
By attending classes, clients—both client and baby’s fathers—earn credits that may be redeemed in the Mercy Project Store for new items such as cribs, baby clothes, diapers and other baby-related items. We are always in need of new baby items for this purpose. We have other avenues for distributing gently used items, but we reserve our new items for those clients who attend Mercy Project classes.
Fathers play such a vital role in every aspect of their children's lives. Care Net is dedicated to empowering men to become involved, committed, and responsible fathers. Whether in a one-on-one counseling situation or in a group class setting, our male clients are given practical skills that help them feel confident about taking care of their children's needs. Opportunities are offered for male clients to learn how to strengthen their relationship with their partner.
As with female clients, men are offered a variety of services, information and referrals to the community to assist them in their new role as a father. When men visit the center with their partner, they receive a Daddy Folder containing information on fatherhood. They are also encouraged to attend group classes where they can earn points to help with the overall care of their baby.
