Our Purpose
It is our calling to provide compassionate care, practical help, and accurate information to men and women facing unplanned pregnancies or past abortions; to promote premarital abstinence; and to do so in a manner that draws people into a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, to bring Him honor and glory.

History
Through the years, the growth of this Christ-centered organization has been a collaborative effort of concerned Christians of different denominations and backgounds. Every day, Care Net staff and volunteers have the privilege of sharing the message and love of Christ in both word and deed.

1990
|
A group of believers from Cypress Bible Church began gathering for prayer to lift up the need for a crisis pregnancy center in Northwest Houston.

1991
|
First Board of Directors convened and the Northwest Pregnancy Assistance Centeropened its doors at 6623 FM 1960 W. Suite 100 and began counseling clients.

1992
|
First full-time Executive Director hired. CPC-NWH has had only three executive directors in its 16-year history, providing tremendous stability to the ministry. In 2008, our current Executive Director, Mona Parish, celebrates her tenth year of service here at the center.

1995
|
Ministry expanded and moved into its second location at 16000 Stuebner Airline.

1999
|
The Mercy Project, the educational outreach component of the ministry was launched. Today the Mercy Project offers more than twenty classes.

2000
|
Began offering ultrasounds to our clients who are between 6 and 16 weeks gestation. In 2007, we performed 285 ultrasounds.

2001
|
Ministered to our 5,000th client. Moved to our current location near the intersection of FM 1960 and State Highway 249, one of the city’s busiest intersections.

2001
|
Affiliated with Care Net and changed our name to Care Net Pregnancy Center of Northwest Houston.

2006
|
In March, shared the Gospel with our 10,000th client.

2007
|
In 2007, there were over 75 volunteers who regularly served at the pregnancy center, either as weekly counselors, Saturday work day volunteers, periodic office help, seasonal involvement for special events, etc.

2009
|
Purchased a new permanent ministry home at 14530 Wunderlich, near FM 1960! Move in will be Spring, 2010.

2010
|
Counseled our 15,000th client in January.
|
|
Total number of all client visits for 2009 was 3,699, reflecting a 22% increase from 2008.
- 1,424 Pregnancy Tests, 76% were positive
- 468 Ultrasounds were performed
- 818 visits were to attend Mercy Project classes
- 982 visits for other services such as redemption of class credits, follow-up visits, referrals to other agencies and abortion recovery counseling
Client facts:
- 76% of clients seen are unmarried
- 66% are under the age of 25
- 45% state they are already a Christian
- 8% have had previous abortions, a number slightly lower than for previous years
Clients who have had previous abortions are 50% more likely to have another abortion.
Sixty-seven of our clients in 2009 were men who received counseling from our men's ministry volunteers or who attended classes with the mother of their baby.
